Overview

Aerok 8010 is a two-component structural epoxy adhesive tailored for applications requiring both clarity and fast curing. Suitable for bonding metals, plastics, and composites, it stands out with a remarkably clear formulation. The low viscosity ensures even distribution, complemented by its high lap shear strength for reliable bonding. With a curing time of less than 15 minutes, it offers efficiency without compromising on bond strength.

Note: Some users may experience skin sensitization; handle accordingly.

Applications

Small Component Assembly:
Its low viscosity makes it suitable for bonding small components in electronics, automotive parts, or even miniature constructs.
Bonding Transparent Materials:
Ideal for projects where a clear bond line is essential, such as in decorative items, light fixtures, or display units.

Key features

Very fast cure at room temperature
Clear formulation
Low viscosity allowing for easy extrusion
High lap shear strength
High Flexibility
High Hardness once cured
Suitable for bonding most prepared metals, plastics and composites.
Will not bond to LSE plastics or galv. steel without extensive surface preparation

How to use

Application temperature:
Should be between 5°C and 30°C. Higher or lower temperatures can impact cure speed and adhesive performance.
Surface Preparation:
It's essential to clean substrates before application. Aerok 8010 will often require abrasion to maximise performance.
Application:
Make sure to follow the proper instructions before using Aerok 8010 as it is a two-component adhesive. Watch the 'How-To' video in the media section below.

Faq's

If you're bonding larger applications with a large adhesive coverage, ensure that the adhesive can be applied and appropriately positioned within its open time of 4 minutes. If you don't put the substrates in place in those 4 minutes, the adhesive will not form a sufficient bond. Aerok 8010 is not designed for applications that require a very high-strength adhesive. It has a tensile strength of 8MPa. Other structural epoxy adhesives can reach significantly higher strengths like Aerok 8020 which can reach 35MPa."

Some users might experience skin sensitization. It's always advisable to wear appropriate protective gear and follow the safety guidelines provided on the product label.

Aerok 8010 is primarily designed for metals, most plastics, and composites. However, Aerok 8010 has a tensile elongation score of 150% meaning it is more than flexible enough to withstand movement and impact from flexible substrates.

Aerok 8010 is not thixotropic. Therefore in vertical applications, it can run or drip.

Aerok 8010 is not designed for applications that require a very high-strength adhesive. It has a tensile strength of 8MPa. Other structural epoxy adhesives can reach significantly higher strengths like Aerok 8020 which can reach 35MPa.
