FAQ's

1. Is Formoa the same as silicone?

No, Formoa is based on MS (Modified Silane) polymer technology, which offers the benefits of both silicone and polyurethane sealants. While MS polymers and silicones can be used for bonding and sealing, Formoa provides a truly primerless application, making it distinct from typical silicones. You can read about the differences between MS polymers and silicone here.

2. How much Formoa will I need for my application?

To work out how much Formoa you'll need, you can use our handy tool. Just input the amount of metres you'll need to cover, and the packaging option you are using and the tool will give you an exact number. (Link to the Tool's page).

3. How long do Formoa products typically take to cure?

While curing time will vary depending on the specific product, all are designed for efficient application and setting in semi-structural or sealing contexts. The faster-curing high-performance Formoa products will reach handling strength in 3-4 hours and most Formoa products will take up to 3 days to fully cure. However, there are lots of variables. Always refer to the technical data sheet for exact information. You can read more about what affects cure times here.

4. How much does Formoa cost?

The cost of Formoa will depend on the product and volume of your order. However, you can expect cartridges to cost around £5 - £11 and foil packs to cost around £9 - £18. You can find out more about exact cost by visiting our pricing page.

5. Where can I purchase Formoa products?

You can either purchase Formoa products through a distributor or from Forgeway themselves. If you're unsure about whether to purchase direct from Forgeway or through a distributor, you can read the article here discussing the difference or get in touch with a Forgeway consultant.
